Sautéed Mushrooms with Basil

    Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 12 ounces mushrooms, stems removed, caps sliced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil

Instructions:

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the butter and oil until the foam from the butter subsides. Reduce the heat to medium, add the onions and garlic and sauté, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Add the mushrooms, salt and pepper and cook, without stirring, for 2 minutes. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their juices, about 8 minutes. Add the basil and stir to combine. Remove from the heat; serve immediately or cover to keep warm.
