   Celebration of Flavor is not our only concern at Shenandoah Growers, we care about “health of body (and) peace of mind” as well. In addition to our hydroponics growing system, our Organic Garden is another source of quality produce. These herbs are grown seasonally on our farm in harmony with the surrounding habitat and environment.

   We use sustainable farming techniques to produce herbs that are free of hormones and chemical residues, creating safe working conditions for our farmers and foods that are healthy and hearty. The goal of our soil management program, which is literally the foundation of our garden, is to increase organic matter and biological activity. We are able to limit water usage with healthy soil which retains moisture and by using drip irrigation. The control of pests is done by natural means; attracting bluebirds and swallows to the area, applying natural repellents, and planting beneficial flowers. Our Organic Gardens have been certified by the Virginia Association for Biological Farming since 1995.
   This is a commitment on our part to ensure the longevity of our farm and to protect the environment as we produce our herbs. It also guarantees that all of our organically labeled produce meets the requirements of the Virginia Organic Foods Act.
